Below are client testimonials originally posted to our old website and in or on public forums between the years 2006-2012. We stopped adding testimonials in 2013; we figured that if you couldn’t get the proper impression from the extent of content listed below then no level of additional content would be much for motivation. Since then, now that EVERYTHING has moved into the digital world (when we started back-in-the-day, we only had print ads), we are aiming for testimonials galore.

I recommend Darren strongly. If he knows how to do it, it will get done.

I had Darren repair a metal fence of mine and was quite pleased with the job done. It was a fair price and done quickly. Thanks again Darren.

Darren fixed our wrought iron fence by welding several pieces that had broken off of it – it’s hard to find someone that knows how to do this type of repair.

Darren came over this week and fixed the closet door that has stumped all others for almost 3 years. It is GREAT to be able to get into my closet without picking up and moving the door!

Darren helped me out this week with some heavy yard work and installation of hammock posts. He is very personable and I found his rate reasonable. On top of that and best of all, he showed up when he said, worked hard and did a great job. I’ll be calling on him again in the near future

Darren came to our place recently and did a fabulous job removing some truly hideous wrought iron from the top of our brick fence around the side of the yard. It totally transformed the look of the house!

His work was great, he came on time, and the fee was quite reasonable. We plan to use him again soon!

Darren helped us out with removing an old chain link fence from property. He got the job done quickly and efficiently and was pleasant to work with.

Just had Darren wash my house and he did a good job and much more economical than the last time I had it washed. I’ll be calling on Darren to do some other odd jobs around the house that I cannot do myself.
Thanks, Darren.

Darren just washed our house as well. He did a great job! He’s reliable, honest and hardworking. We’d use him again for projects around the house that we can’t get to ourselves.

I’ll third that … Darren caulked all the gaps between my windows outside and then pressure washed the entire house. Great job. In addition, he installed some smoke alarms, fixed the running toilet, and told me what to do to get the ice maker working again. I’m sure there are other things that I’m forgetting.

Darren arrived when he said he would, did what he said he could, cleaned up after and charged a reasonable price. What more can you ask?

Hi Darren,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the stellar job you did with my A/C cage. The build was solid and it was aesthetically pleasing! As you know,  my air conditioner was stolen, and I felt it necessary to have this cage as a means of protection. You’ve given me a product that assures me peace of mind. I thank you again, and will certainly use your services (as well as refer you to others) in the future.

Sincerely,

Fahd

What I liked best about working with Darren was his ability to handle many different kinds of projects. I needed a metal gate latch welded, some tile caulked, and some landscaping done. Instead of having to call and schedule a lot of different people to do each task, I just called one person. Darren was capable, reliable and easy to work with.

Darren,

Thank you very much for helping me take care of my Home. What may seem like small jobs to you and your crew are monumentally important to busy, single women like me that want to insure the proper maintenance on our Homes but do not possess any carpentry skills to do so.

Your follow up is impressive and uncharacteristic of “contractors”.

I would recommend you, without reservation, to anyone needing a handyman around their Home.

Sincerely,

Allison Mitchell

As a single woman, I had been afraid to hire anyone to come into my townhouse to fix all the little things that were bothering me. Frustrated, I turned to Google and found Houston Honey Do. After reading the testimonials on the site and corresponding with Darren, I decided to take the chance. Darren and his colleague, Luke, arrived on time and with all the tools necessary. Immediately, they made me feel comfortable and safe. They were friendly, listened carefully to what I wanted, and gave me an honest assessment of what they could fix. The work was done in a timely manner and with attention to detail. I will definitely be calling Houston Honey Do for future projects and home maintenance, and I will be recommending them to my friends.

We mistakenly tried to re-caulk our shower twice ourselves with awful results. Darren did a brilliant job removing and then re-grouting our shower with the perfect color grout. He did a brilliant job waterproofing the back door and fixing the associated weather damage. He even told us how to fix our electric blinds! Our previous handyman had misdiagnosed the problem and told us that our blinds weren’t working because of an electrical wiring problem. We were planning on hiring an electrician but Darren told us that our type of electric blind was battery operated and we fixed it ourselves for free. He also found an innovative, cheap, aesthetic way to fill in the drainage holes in our sun room which used to be a balcony. Darren was personable, flexible and arrived right on time. We had no communication issues. I recommend Houston Honey Do to everyone that wants a trust-worthy, reliable and innovative home improvement. We will definitely hire him again.

I needed a hefty job done for a house in which 15 college girls live. The work needed to be durable and done quickly. I don’t know much about carpentry and I didn’t even know where to begin. I met Darren at the house and he immediately gave me an assessment and got to work. The work was done that day. I was able to give him full access to the home. The girls and I felt safe and he worked with the utmost professionalism. They left the work area cleaner than the way they found it. I am extremely satisfied with the work and the way they conducted business. I am so glad to know that if there is a job no matter how big or small I can trust that Houston Honey Do will help me get it done right the first time so I can get on with the next task!!!

Houston Honey-do did a very nice job repairing my termite-damaged job, and put on a wooden exterior that matched the original.  Their work was done on time, the cost was moderate, and they responded readily to requests for changes or other work.  They also did some painting touch-up work which was done well. I recommend them for very competent household repairs.

You did a great job repairing and replacing the rotten siding on our house. We are very pleased with your work, and will not hesitate to recommend you to our neighbors for any work they need done. I also appreciate you coming back to fix the rotten spot in the eaves. Thanks.

Thank you so much for your hard work!  This was a job I could never do on my own!  You and your partner came in and did and excellent job, left everything clean neat and tidy and got it done quick! I’m already collecting a list of other items I need your help with! I tell my family and friends about you and the best thing being, I completely trust you to get the work done, both in the house and out!

Darren did a great job working on a fairly unconventional claw foot tub/plumbing job in our garage apartment.  He was very courteous and professional.  We would use him again for miscellaneous multi-trade jobs.  He’s a talented handyman.

Ending 2008, we had substantial post-Ike damage (not covered by insurance) and a newborn baby on our hands.  I had researched, interviewed and obtained estimates from 9 contractors.  I had the greatest comfort level with Darren, and immediately felt that I could trust him.  This was definitely an excellent decision; outstanding workmanship, cost-effective, conscientious, and timely completion of the entire project.  I have started referring him to our closest friends.

I just can’t say enough about Darren of Honey Do. Finally we’ve found someone who not only shows up on time, he does a great job at a fair price. We have such peace of mind now that we don’t have to wonder what sort of person we’re letting in our home. From the first job he did for us, we were sold on his work ethics and how comfortable he made us feel. We would not hesitate to recommend “Honey Do,” to our friends and neighbors.

I feel very comfortable referring HH to my friends and clients.  I always find the work to be high quality and thorough.  The owner is easy to talk to and not only listens to the needs of the job at hand but can trouble shoot and develop the best way to get the job done.

I needed some overhead storage racks hung from the garage ceiling.  I tried to do it myself, but realized I did not have the tools or experience to do it right.
I contacted Houston Honey Do and I received a quote the same day.

Houston Honey Do arrived at my home at the appointed time, they even called first an hour before just to let me know they were on the way.
He took the time to understand my requirements and even made a few recommendations I hadn’t thought of.

We briefly discussed the quote that they had previously emailed so that everything was clear before the job was started.
He quickly got to work and the job was finished in less than the time quoted, so he revised the quote to reflect the lower price.  I was very pleased with the installation, especially the fact that the work area had been cleaned up.

I would definitely recommend Houston Honey Do’s services to anyone looking for a dependable, professional handyman for all those jobs we never seem to get to in our homes.

I have challenged Houston Honey Do with a wide spectrum of tasks and they have exceeded expectations in each of these projects.  The challenges have ranged from changing lights, building custom structures,  custom joint work around a pool, paint, and curtain rods.  Its great to send Houston Honey Do an email with my to do list and they complete it for me.  Houston Honey Do completes my to-do list and they do it better than I could or could imagine someone to do.

Everything was going well until I was asked to show my father-in-law how I had “fixed” the ice maker, when he was helping me install a new part. ([Darren helped remove the original, faulty party] One of the many repairs Darren made, while my wife was out of town.) When I fumbled to remove the faceplate from the ice machine, it quickly became obvious that I was a handyman imposter. I had to confess (in front of my wife!) that I had a “professional” come in and complete my list of “honey-do” projects. We all had a good laugh, and in the end, my wife was happy that I had at least taken the initiative to hire someone to help with the tasks that I did not have the skill to complete on my own.

Darren has since returned to work on other miscellaneous projects around my home. My advice to homeowners is there will undoubtedly be projects/repairs that will be outside of your level of expertise. Never hesitate to contact Darren as he can move from project to project, helping you avoid costly service call fees that result from bringing in multiple contractors. I highly recommend “Houston Honey Do” – and have recommended them to my family, friends, and co-workers.

Darren has worked on several home projects for me and, each time, the results exceeded my expectations.  Actually, I think his goal throughout is to exceed expectations.  What I like best about working with him is that it’s a collaborative process – he listens carefully to understand what I’d like, clearly outlines options and costs, and offers creative suggestions that in each case improved upon my starting idea.  He’s absolutely dependable – he provides regular updates during the project, is careful about leaving the area as clean as possible at the end of each day and I feel comfortable having him working in the house when I’m not there.

I recommend him highly.

“I’m new to Houston, and new to home-ownership, and I have to admit: I was overwhelmed pretty quickly. Between the “joys” of moving, settling into a new job, and jumping through hoops to get a home loan, I just didn’t have the time or the tools to try and check things off my growing “to-do” list.

And trust me, after buying an older house, there were *tons* of things on my ‘to-do’ list. I really needed to tackle the multitude of little things I thought would make my house more livable, but after putting down a large down payment, I didn’t want to strain my budget in the process.  Enter Darren from ‘Houston Honey-Do’: this man was a lifesaver! In one day, he managed to finish everything I could possible think needed doing in my home. He corrected sticking doors, fixed my desk, hung up curtain rods, installed peg boards, and even put in an automatic thermostat for me.  Fast, professional, and very likeable, Darren was a real lifesaver—and best of all, getting his help was actually pretty inexpensive! I can’t recommend Houston Honey-Do enough.”

I am very happy to say that I am a repeat customer of Houston Honey Do for many reasons, but the 2 main reasons are: 1) everything on my honey-do list gets done professionally and is quality work, and 2) the price is not only fair but unbeatable!  Darren’s friendly, sharing, and entertaining personality is a free bonus! Darren can not only do the mundane and the usual but he can also do custom built and artistic work. I was very happy and impressed when Darren quickly and easily built a custom frame for a Charpai (a hand woven bed used in Pakistan and India)!  I would recommend him to anyone looking for the piece of mind of getting things done… And done well!

Recently, after purchasing my first home I decided I needed help in hanging a heavy mirror and with several other small home improvement projects (assembling a toy shelving unit, assembling & mounting bathroom vanity cabinets, etc.).  Darren, of Houston Honey-Do, was an enormous help in removing these projects from my never-ending “to do” list.  Darren performed quality work and provided more than fair pricing for his work.  As this was my second time using Darren for this type of help, I can highly recommend Houston Honey-Do and will definitely be using them again in the future as home maintenance and repair projects are required.
